First state-wide media campaign to use prime-time media Tasmania
Church leaders announced today that they would run the first state-wide Jesus. All about life (JAAL) campaign in September/October, 2007. (September 12th, 2007 to October 30th, 2007)
The announcement was made following a meeting of the Heads of Churches who officially adopted a recommendation made to them by denominational and church leaders. The recommendation followed a series of meetings held throughout the state, addressed by JAAL Project Directors, Karl Faase and Martin Johnson.
Jesus. All about life, developed by Bible Society, has already run in Adelaide (August, 2005) and Canberra (March/April, 2006). JAAL uses primetime television advertising over a four week period supported by radio, print and outdoor.
Bible Society Director in Tasmania, Alan Harris has been instrumental in setting up the meetings in Devonport, Launceston and Hobart. “Bible Society is committed to supporting the local church and Jesus. All about life is a great way of us working with all denominations to get the name of Jesus talked about in our community,” said Alan. “It’s wonderful having churches in Tasmania working together,” he said. “I am excited at the response from church leaders and pastors”, he added.
The churches have established an Executive Committee which will run Jesus. All about life across the state, chaired by Major Allan Daddow, Divisional Commander of The Salvation Army in Tasmania. “We are setting up regional teams covering the north-west, north and south,” Allan said. “We have had good offers of support already,” said Allan. “I am sure God’s people will see the potential and get involved.”
