Jesus All About Life

KJV 400 years later

In 2011 we celebrate the four-hundredth anniversary of the King James Version of the Bible. This important translation caused a revolution by making the Bible available in the language of the people. It had an enormous impact on society and the English language. In 2011 we have events and opportunities to praise and glorify God for the transforming Word we read in the Bible.

We'll add events here and on a special website as the plans are finalised, so visit again and spread the word (while you spread the Word)! Let's just say that there will be something in each state across Australia.

At this point in time you may like to ask people to pray for events you are thinking about organising locally to celebrate this anniversary. Bible Society will be producing a range of resources for use in schools, churches and Sunday schools and also to support the national historic Bible exhibition. These will be available on the site soon for free.

YouTube Bible campaign

One of the activities celebrating the 400th anniversary of the King James Bible is the YouTube Bible campaign. Christians of all walks of life are being encouraged to get behind this by reading a chapter of the KJV on video and then having them published to YouTube. Why not get your Bible study, home group, friends and/or family to do a chapter?

Please pray

Please pray that in celebrating 400 years of the Bible in the language of the people, we will find ways to continue to share God's Word with those who haven't yet heard. Thank God for His powerful Word.

If you would like to offer suggestions, give feedback or find out more about this exciting event, please email the KJV celebration coordinator, Philip Southwell HERE.
